The Federal Government has announced Friday, April 18 and Monday, April 21, 2025, as public holidays to celebrate the Christian festival of Good Friday and Easter Monday.

This announcement was made on Tuesday by the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government. He congratulated Christians across the country and wished them a joyful celebration.

Dr Tunji-Ojo stressed the need for Nigerians to reflect on the values of love and sacrifice shown by Jesus Christ, who died for the redemption of mankind.

According to a statement issued by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr Magdalene Ajani, the minister also encouraged citizens to use the holiday to pray for peace, unity, and stability in Nigeria.

He further assured Nigerians of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s strong commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, which focuses on national development and progress.

“He also urged Nigerians to show love and kindness to one another during the season,” the statement read.

The Minister ended by wishing all Christians a peaceful and joyful Easter and sent warm holiday greetings to every Nigerian.
