We are not owing Late Christian Chukwu – NFF
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has refuted claims circulating on social media that it owes the late Christian Chukwu, former captain and coach of the Nigerian national football team, the sum of $128,000.
In a statement issued by NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, the football body dismissed the allegations, clarifying that there is no record of any outstanding debt to Chukwu following his dismissal from his coaching role after the 1-1 draw with Angola in the 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Sanusi further challenged anyone in possession of legitimate and verifiable documents to provide evidence of any owed sums by the NFF to coaches of the national teams over the past two decades.
The statement was issued in response to the ongoing rumors after Chukwu’s passing on Saturday.
