Gov Bala Mohammed

Shamsudeen Bala Mohammed, son of Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, has revealed that his father cannot support former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s presidential ambition, citing betrayal during the 2023 elections.

In a post on his official X handle (@shamsudeen_bala), Shamsudeen responded to a comment suggesting a possible alliance between Atiku and Governor Mohammed to revive the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He dismissed the idea, pointing out that Atiku actively worked against his father’s re-election bid.

“Honestly, it would be difficult,” Shamsudeen stated.

“Because even if he wins, there’s nothing he would do for us except settle old scores.”

“He didn’t support us in 2023, he backed the APC candidate and used Bauchi elites to oppose us.”

“We barely survived it.”

“He’s made it clear he doesn’t value us enough to engage in dialogue.”

His remarks shed light on internal divisions within the PDP as the party gears up for the 2027 general elections.
