Presidency dismisses fresh U.S. Court Order on Tinubu, says no new revelations

The Nigerian Presidency has brushed off the importance of a recent ruling by a U.S. District Court, which directed law enforcement agencies to release documents related to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The court order compels the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to disclose certain files involving President Tinubu, following a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request by American citizen, Aaron Greenspan.
However, in a reaction issued by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, the Presidency maintained that the documents in question are decades old and contain no incriminating evidence.
“There is nothing new to be revealed. The report by Agent Moss of the FBI and the DEA report have been in the public space for more than 30 years,” Onanuga stated. “The reports did not indict the Nigerian leader. The lawyers are examining the ruling.”
He further explained that while journalists had reached out for comments on the ruling made in Washington DC last Tuesday, the Presidency remains firm that the case is stale and devoid of any damaging material.
