Uromi Killings: We will pay full compensation to families of slain travelers – Okpebholo

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has assured the families of the 16 hunters killed in Uromi that they will receive full compensation for their loss.
During a condolence visit to Torankawa in Bunkure Local Government Area, Governor Okpebholo, alongside Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and other dignitaries, pledged financial and food support for the bereaved families.
Expressing outrage over the killings, the governor vowed that those responsible would face justice. “We will ensure that justice is served on those responsible for this heinous act,” he declared.
Meanwhile, hundreds of family members and supporters staged a peaceful protest, demanding justice for the slain hunters. They carried placards with messages such as “Hunters are not criminals” and “Justice must prevail.” Many hunters, visibly agitated, joined the demonstration, some brandishing weapons while chanting war songs.
Local residents ensured the protest remained peaceful as the governor’s convoy passed through the area.
