President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved an extension of Mrs. Kemi Nanna Nandap’s tenure as the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).

Nandap, who started her career in the NIS on October 9, 1989, was initially appointed by Tinubu as Comptroller-General on March 1, 2024, with a tenure set to end on August 31, 2025.

However, due to her achievements in leading the agency, the president has extended her tenure until December 31, 2026.

Announcing the extension in a statement on Monday, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, highlighted the progress recorded under Nandap’s leadership.

He noted improvements in border management, modernization of immigration processes, and enhanced national security measures.

President Tinubu praised Nandap’s leadership and urged her to remain committed to the Service’s strategic goals, which align with his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

He also reaffirmed the government’s dedication to supporting the NIS in safeguarding Nigeria’s borders and ensuring safe and legal migration.
