The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Sunday led a delegation of Abuja residents to the Presidential Villa to pay Sallah homage to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The gathering, which included Vice President Kashim Shettima, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohamed Idris, and other notable FCT indigenes, came amid rumors that Wike had collapsed at a meeting on Friday and was flown to France for medical treatment. However, Wike had been actively engaged in official duties on Friday, inspecting ongoing projects in Abuja.

During the homage, President Tinubu commended Wike for his dedication to transforming Abuja into a befitting capital city. In his remarks, Wike congratulated the president and the Muslim community on completing 30 days of fasting, prayers, and supplications.

He described the visit as historic, being the first time FCT residents had the opportunity to extend their Sallah greetings to the president in person. Wike also highlighted the administration’s achievements and upcoming projects aimed at improving infrastructure, economic growth, and the overall quality of life in the FCT.

“As we approach the second anniversary of your administration, we are excited about the array of impactful projects lined up for commissioning,” Wike stated.

He further praised Tinubu’s leadership and support for the FCT Administration, emphasizing key reforms such as the exit of the FCTA from the Treasury Single Account (TSA), the creation of the FCT Civil Service Commission, and the establishment of new Mandate Secretariats for Women and Youths.

“These bold initiatives have strengthened our governance structure and improved service delivery, translating into a better life for residents,” Wike said.

The delegation, comprising religious, political, and traditional leaders, security agencies, and FCT officials, reaffirmed their loyalty to the Renewed Hope Agenda, pledging continued cooperation in driving national development under Tinubu’s leadership.
