Polish Man sentenced to life for brutal murder of UK Landlord

A Polish man with a deep obsession for horror films has been sentenced to life in prison in the UK for the gruesome murder and dismemberment of his landlord.
Marcin Majerkiewicz, 42, was found guilty of killing his 67-year-old landlord, Stuart Everett, by repeatedly striking him with a hammer on March 28, 2024. The verdict was delivered at Manchester Crown Court on Friday.
Following the murder, Majerkiewicz cut Everett’s body into 27 pieces using a hacksaw. He then placed the remains into plastic bags and took multiple bus trips across Salford and Manchester to dispose of the evidence. However, a large portion of Everett’s body has yet to be recovered. A passerby discovered his torso in a Salford nature reserve.
Authorities revealed that Majerkiewicz was fixated on horror and gore, even having a tattoo of Jason Voorhees, the fictional killer from the Friday the 13th movie series.
During sentencing, Judge John Cavanagh condemned his actions, stating, “You behaved in an almost unimaginably cold-blooded and horrific manner, exhibiting total disrespect and contempt for your friend’s remains.”
Investigations also showed that Majerkiewicz was struggling with debts exceeding £70,000 and had intended to steal money from Everett. Despite pleading not guilty, a jury found him guilty after a three-week trial.
He was sentenced to life in prison and must serve a minimum of 34 years before being considered for parole.
