Gov Uba Sani approves recruitment of 1,800 Health Workers in Kaduna

The Kaduna State Government has approved the recruitment of 1,800 new healthcare personnel to address staffing shortages across Primary Health Care (PHC) facilities in the state.
A statement issued by the Commissioner of Health, Hajiya Umma Ahmad, on Thursday, emphasized that the recruitment aims to enhance Kaduna’s leadership role in primary healthcare services.
According to her, the new staff will help bridge human resource gaps, significantly reducing maternal and child mortality rates while improving the overall well-being of citizens.
The statement also highlighted the ongoing revitalization of 255 PHC facilities, which includes state-of-the-art equipment and the distribution of essential drugs.
Additionally, all 255 Primary Healthcare Centers will be remodeled and upgraded to Level 2 status, enabling them to manage uncomplicated diabetes, hypertension, severe asthma resuscitation, assisted deliveries, and other essential services.
Hajiya Umma stressed that Governor Uba Sani’s administration has prioritized healthcare since assuming office on May 29, 2023, earning the state 10 national and international awards, including the Excellence Award by the International Supply Chain Education Alliance (ISCEA).
She further noted that under the current administration, quality healthcare is not a privilege but a fundamental right, adding that Kaduna State was ranked best in Primary Health Care in the North West Zone under the PHC Leadership Challenge.
