Buhari celebrates Tinubu at 73, praises his Leadership, APC Legacy

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has reaffirmed his close bond with President Bola Tinubu in a telephone call to celebrate Tinubu’s 73rd birthday.

In a statement released on Saturday by his spokesperson, Mallam Garba Shehu, Buhari expressed prayers for Tinubu’s long life, good health, and a successful administration.

“When we pray for our leaders, we are praying for ourselves and the nation. We owe this to ourselves and the country,” Buhari remarked.

He acknowledged Tinubu’s significant role in the formation of the All Progressives Congress (APC), which led to Buhari’s two-term presidency and ensured the party’s continued governance under Tinubu.

Buhari described Tinubu as an entrepreneur, party stalwart, activist, organizer, and a reliable ally, noting that Nigeria’s political history would be incomplete without his contributions.

Reflecting on APC’s victory in 2015, Buhari stated that the party’s mandate was to build a foundation for a prosperous Nigeria, and he is pleased that the vision is still alive.

He also extended his best wishes to Tinubu, his family, and the nation for a successful Ramadan fast and a joyous Eid celebration.
