Two confirmed dead, one injured as truck rams into motorcycle in Kano

A fatal accident occurred on Wednesday along Airport Road, Kano, when a truck crushed two people to death and left another seriously injured.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Kano Command, CRC Abdullahi Labaran, attributed the crash to dangerous driving.

He stated that the accident involved a commercial DAF truck and a private Jincheng motorcycle, with a total of six people affected.

Labaran disclosed that FRSC operatives responded swiftly after receiving a distress call, evacuating the victims and clearing the accident scene.

“Our personnel arrived within three minutes, transporting the injured victim to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, while the deceased were taken to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital.”

“The vehicles and recovered items have been handed over to Gwagwarwa Police Division for further investigation,” he stated.

The FRSC urged motorists to adhere to traffic regulations to prevent road crashes, extending condolences to the families of the deceased and wishing the injured a quick recovery.

However, an eyewitness, Dennis Peter, claimed that three people lost their lives in the accident.

According to him, the truck rammed into the motorcycle carrying the victims, killing three on the spot.
