Popular Kannywood actor ‘Karkuzu’ is dead

The Kannywood film industry has lost one of its renowned actors, Abdullahi Shuaibu, popularly known as Karkuzu.
He passed away on Tuesday at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH).
Following his passing, his funeral prayer was held on Wednesday morning, drawing a large crowd of mourners who gathered to pay their final respects.
Dalhatu Abdullahi, one of Karkuzu’s sons, expressed that his father’s death is a significant loss for the family. Karkuzu, who was 94 years old, is survived by six children and a wife.
Sani Mu’azu, a colleague in the film industry, said “What struck me most about Karkuzu was his resilience and dedication to his craft.
Despite facing numerous life challenges, including health issues, he continued to act well into his old age, inspiring countless young actors and actresses along the way.
“His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched and the unforgettable characters he brought to life.
His contribution to the Hausa film industry, particularly in Jos, earned him widespread recognition and admiration.
