Samsung Co-CEO Han Jong-Hee dies at 63

Samsung Electronics Co-CEO, Han Jong-Hee, has passed away at the age of 63 after suffering a heart attack on Tuesday.
A spokesperson for the South Korean tech giant confirmed his death, marking a significant loss for the company.
Han, who oversaw Samsung’s consumer electronics and mobile devices businesses, was appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2022.
He had been with the company since 1988 after earning a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Inha University.
Before taking charge of the electronics and devices division, he played a key role in Samsung’s display operations.
In a tribute to Han, Samsung highlighted his 37 years of dedication, particularly in leading the company’s TV business to global prominence.
“Han dedicated more than 37 years of his life to leading Samsung’s TV business to become a global leader,” the company stated.
Samsung also acknowledged his contributions as head of its electronics and appliances divisions, crediting him for steering the company’s growth despite challenging business conditions.
