Gunmen abduct FRSC Inspector in Benue, security agencies launch probe

An Inspector of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Nathaniel Kumashe, has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen from his home in Tse Aboh, Uchi-Mbakor, Tarka Local Government Area of Benue State.
The abduction took place around 10 p.m. on Wednesday while Kumashe was with his family. According to local sources, the assailants fired several gunshots to instill fear before forcibly taking him to an undisclosed location.
A source revealed that Kumashe had just returned from a wake-keep for his late cousin when the attackers struck. Community youths conducted an overnight search in surrounding bushes but were unable to locate him.
Chief Yimam Agbo, a former Special Adviser to the Benue State Governor on Transportation and the victim’s uncle, confirmed the incident. Security operatives from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the police have since visited the area to begin investigations.
The FRSC Public Relations Officer in Benue State, Ngozi Ahula, confirmed that the case had been reported to the police.
However, the Benue State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Catherine Anene, stated she was yet to receive an official report on the matter.
