FG approves NYSC mobilisation for Full-Time HND graduates

The Federal Government has approved the mobilisation of all full-time Higher National Diploma (HND) graduates for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), ending years of exclusion from the programme.

Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, made the announcement in Abuja on Thursday, as conveyed in a statement by the ministry’s Director of Press and Public Relations, Folasade Boriowo.

According to Alausa, after discussions with the NYSC Director-General, it was agreed that only full-time HND graduates would be eligible for mobilisation. However, those who obtained their HND through part-time programmes remain ineligible.

“To ensure a smooth process, the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has been directed to expedite the collation of data for eligible HND graduates,” Alausa stated.

A new HND admission portal has been introduced, and all Rectors of Polytechnics have been instructed to upload necessary graduate data for proper documentation. This move aims to prevent discrepancies in admission records and streamline NYSC mobilisation.

The minister encouraged all eligible full-time HND graduates to take advantage of this opportunity and commence their mobilisation process.
