BREAKING: Atiku, El-Rufai, Amaechi, others form coalition against Tinubu ahead of 2027

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, alongside several members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and key opposition figures, has launched a coalition aimed at challenging President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election.
The coalition was announced at a press conference attended by notable political figures, including the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, who was represented by Yunusa Tanko; former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal; former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai; National Secretary of the Coalition of United Political Parties, Peter Ahmeh; and Convenor of the Alternative, Segun Showunmi, among others.
Additionally, apologies were received from prominent politicians who were unable to attend, including former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi, and the immediate past National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Adamu.
