Scores injured, Houses set ablaze as communal clash erupts in Plateau

Reports reaching our news desk confirm an ongoing violent clash between irate youths in Shimankar village, Shendam Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Sources reveal that the clash has led to several houses being set ablaze, escalating tensions in the community.
Speaking on the incident, the Plateau State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Alfred Alabo, confirmed in a telephone conversation that the violence stemmed from a misunderstanding between traditional worshippers and some Muslim youths.
“There was a misunderstanding between some traditional worshippers and some Muslim youths, which resulted in a clash. However, no life was lost, but four people sustained injuries.”
