Jandor officially returns to APC, cites PDP crisis as key reason

Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has announced his return to the All Progressives Congress (APC) after leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Speaking at a press conference on Monday in Ikeja, Lagos, the former PDP governorship candidate attributed his defection to internal crises and a lack of discipline within the opposition party.

“Our experience in the PDP was marred by working with political saboteurs, but we’ve decided to prioritize our future over the past,” Jandor stated.

He revealed that he had consulted widely before making his decision, exploring options with the Social Democratic Party (SDP), African Democratic Congress (ADC), and Young Progressive Party (YPP) before settling on returning to APC.

Jandor justified his move with a Yoruba proverb, saying:

“If a woman has not tried two husbands, she may not know which one is better.”

He praised APC leadership, while also speaking on the party’s commitment to victory and governance.

He also acknowledged the role of President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, and Seyi Tinubu in persuading him to return.

“Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila encouraged me for over a year to come ‘home.’ When I resigned from the PDP, Seyi Tinubu immediately reached out, urging me to come back,” he said.

Jandor also used the medium to ask his supporters to join him in this new political chapter, saying that his decision was in the best interest of Lagos State.
