Tinubu hosts Catholic Bishops in Aso Villa (Photos)

President Bola Tinubu on Friday welcomed a delegation of Catholic Bishops of Nigeria at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, assuring them of his administration’s dedication to building a stronger and more prosperous nation.
The delegation, led by the President of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) and Archbishop of Owerri, Lucius Iwejuru Ugorji, included prominent clerics such as Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah and Bishop Emeritus of Abuja Archdiocese, John Cardinal Onayikan.
The meeting follows recent criticisms from the CBCN, which raised concerns over pressing national issues, including unemployment, insecurity, poverty, and corruption. Speaking at the bishops’ plenary meeting in Abuja last weekend, Archbishop Ugorji urged President Tinubu to take urgent action to address these challenges.
In response, the Presidency, through Special Adviser on Information and Strategy Bayo Onanuga, assured Nigerians that the country is making significant progress under Tinubu’s leadership.
The government reiterated its commitment to improving the economy and security situation despite the concerns raised by the bishops.
