Ruben Amorim poised to prove Jim Ratcliffe wrong

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has admitted that both he and the club’s underperforming players must prove co-owner Jim Ratcliffe wrong following the billionaire’s harsh comment against the squad.
United are currently struggling in 14th place in the Premier League and have been eliminated from both domestic cup competitions.
Ratcliffe did not hold back in his assessment, questioning the performances of players like Rasmus Hojlund, Andre Onana, Jadon Sancho, and Antony, labeling some as “not good enough” and “probably overpaid.”
In response, Amorim acknowledged the team’s struggles but remains determined to turn things around, starting with Thursday’s crucial Europa League clash against Real Sociedad.
“I think if we are being honest, everybody—me, all the players—are underperforming this season, so we can always change that,” Amorim stated. “The focus is to change his mind and to change all the people’s minds.”
He stated that the squad has taken Ratcliffe’s comments as motivation, insisting that their response will come through improved performances on the pitch.
With as many as 11 players potentially unavailable for the upcoming match, the Europa League remains United’s best chance of securing European qualification.
Amorim also spoke on the importance of maintaining high energy levels to finish the season on a positive note.
