In yet another tragic incident, about 61 residents of Buda community in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State were reportedly kidnapped by bandits on Monday.

Among those abducted were men, women, children, and a nursing mother who had just given birth two weeks ago.

A survivor described the situation as heartbreaking, stating that there has been no word from the victims since the attack.

“The situation is devastating because we have not heard from them since the incident happened on Monday. We’re appealing to the government to take action and ensure their return immediately,” he pleaded.

As of the time of this report, the police had yet to release a statement. However, a local witness explained that the bandits stormed the community in large numbers, firing gunshots indiscriminately.

He urged the authorities to strengthen security in the area.

“My siblings were part of those abducted, and based on the information available as of this morning, the bandits and their victims are yet to reach their destination,” he added.

This latest attack follows a similar tragedy in Kuriga community, Chikun Local Government Area, where over 200 students and teachers were kidnapped at the LEA Primary School during their morning assembly.

A local source, who preferred anonymity, described how the armed men struck at about 8:30 am, surrounding the school premises from different directions.

“The incident happened in the morning while the students were about to conclude the assembly. The bandits came from different parts of the village and encircled the school premises,” he said.

According to reports, the victims included both primary and secondary school students who had been relocated to the primary school due to fears of an attack.
