PDP will reclaim its mandate in 2027 – Tambuwal

Former Sokoto State Governor and serving Senator, Aminu Tambuwal (Mutawallen Sokoto), has assured that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will reclaim its mandate from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
He made this statement on Monday while launching the distribution of Ramadan relief packages to residents of Sokoto State.
Tambuwal explained that the initiative would benefit over 30,000 households across the state, complementing the food aid and various support programmes already provided by PDP lawmakers at both state and federal levels. He stressed that these efforts were aimed at easing the economic burden on citizens, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
According to the senator, PDP lawmakers have also commenced the distribution of thousands of bags of rice and other essential food items to youth and women-led organisations, helping them sustain their fast during the sacred period.
“We must be grateful to Allah for keeping us alive to witness another Ramadan, despite the many lives lost,” Tambuwal stated. “We continue to pray for good health and long life so that we can celebrate many more blessed months of Ramadan. I also appreciate our party chairman and leaders for their relentless efforts in strengthening and uniting the PDP in Sokoto.”
Reaffirming the party’s determination, Tambuwal declared that the PDP remains a “united family” working to reclaim its mandate. He alleged that the party’s victory in the last election was “forcefully taken” but assured that the PDP was restructuring and strategising to recover it.
“By Allah’s grace, what was taken from us will be restored in 2027,” he declared.
Earlier, the PDP Chairman in Sokoto State, Bello Goronyo, commended party members for their unwavering loyalty and faith in the PDP. He described the party as the only one that genuinely prioritises the well-being of Nigerians.
Goronyo also criticised the APC-led government, arguing that the current hardships in the country were nonexistent during the PDP’s tenure.
He urged the people of Sokoto and Nigerians at large to free themselves from what he called the “mis-governance” of the APC in the upcoming elections.
